MAISON T. CAPE TOWN · EST. 2026

Founded on a belief
in the details.

Maison T. was born from a love of fragrance, interiors and the quiet details that transform a house into a home. We believe fragrance is more than something you experience—it is part of how a space feels. Every Maison T. candle is thoughtfully considered, from the fragrance and natural wax blend to the vessel it is poured into and the way it lives within an interior. Inspired by timeless European elegance and the relaxed beauty of Cape Town, Maison T. brings together fragrance and design in pieces created to feel at home across different styles and spaces. Because to us, luxury is not about excess. It is found in the details.

The Story Behind Maison T.

Maison T. began with a lifelong appreciation for the way a home can make you feel. For founder Toni, fragrance and interiors have always been deeply connected—the smallest details, a familiar scent, a beautifully considered object or the atmosphere of a room can completely change the way we experience a space. After many years living abroad, returning home to Cape Town brought a renewed appreciation for beauty, craftsmanship and the rituals that make a house feel personal. From this came the idea for Maison T.—a fragrance house where scent is considered as carefully as design. The name Maison, meaning "home" in French, reflects the heart of the brand, while the T. is a quiet signature from its founder. Every collection is created with intention: fragrances chosen for the atmosphere they evoke, vessels designed to complement an interior, and candles hand-poured in Cape Town with an uncompromising attention to detail. Maison T. is ultimately about creating more than fragrance. It is about creating a feeling—a sense of warmth, beauty and belonging within the spaces we call home.

Questions

Asked often.

Where are the candles made?

Every Maison T. candle is hand-poured in small batches in Cape Town. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is mass-produced — which is also why releases are limited.

What goes into a Maison T. candle?

Fine fragrance oils sourced in Grasse, France, an all-natural wax blend, and organic cotton wicks, poured into uncoloured frosted glass. No dyes, no paraffin, no synthetic fillers.

How long does a candle burn?

Our candles offer approximately 60 hours of burn time. Like most beautiful things, a little care goes a long way. On the first burn, allow your candle to burn for at least two hours, giving the wax time to melt evenly across the surface. Before each burn, trim the wick to 5mm for a cleaner, more even flame, and never burn your candle for more than four hours at a time.

Why no lid?

Our candles are intentionally left uncovered. We've carefully developed our wax and fragrance blend to release a beautiful scent both lit and unlit, allowing the fragrance to quietly become part of your space—even when the candle isn't burning.

Why should I trim my wick to 5mm before lighting it?

Trimming your wick to approximately 5mm before each burn helps maintain a clean, even flame while minimizing soot and smoke. It also allows your candle to burn more beautifully and efficiently.
